Daniel S. Field

Dan represents employers in labor and employment matters with a special focus on litigation defense in employment disputes and wage and hour cases. He has counseled numerous employers on compliance with federal overtime regulations, Massachusetts independent contractor rules, state Wage Act standards, tip-sharing regulations and has defended companies facing government audits and private class and collective action wage and hour lawsuits. Dan also represents employers in state and federal courts, and agency investigations involving claims of discrimination, sexual harassment, and breach of contract arising from employment relationships. His practice also includes counseling on employment law compliance, including employment policy development, preparing employee handbooks and human resources management training.

Dan joined Morgan, Brown & Joy, LLP, from the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office where he was the Chief of the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Fair Labor Division, which is Massachusetts’ principal labor law enforcement authority. He was responsible for overseeing enforcement of Massachusetts overtime, independent contractor, payment of wage, tip pooling, minimum wage, and child labor laws.
